3M no longer lists MERV ratings for its reidential products because it doesn't want you to know that their filters LOSE EFFICIENCY when in operation. They do still list this information for their commercial line, however, as it is demanded by European clients. This is due to an over-enhancement with electrostatic charge, which is a way to make lower grade filter media reach a higher initial efficiency.
